Is your company a fit for Orases Labs? Read more about our investment guidelines below.
Orases Labs is looking for companies with the following: $25,000 in EBITDA, $50,000+ in the "friends/family" round of invested capital or post-revenue.
On average, Orases Labs service capital rounds range between $50,000 and $300,000.
The company's founder should be able to describe their intellectual property and/or ways in which the company will remove their competitor's ability to copy or imitate their services and/or products.
Prospective companies should show their products or services intended value by providing testimonials from partners, testimonials from customers or letters of support.
Orases Labs seek companies with products/services that fill a noticeable gap in the market or have a clear advantage on a product/service which currently exists on the market. Ideas that are designed to disrupt the market or ideas aimed to improve user experience and interaction will be given priority.
Applicants should be able to present a readily usable concept of their product in order to prove the product's usability or efficacy. Those which operate within the IT industry must provide a prototype algorithm and/or a visual simulation of their final product.
The company should be able to address the following questions when presenting to the Orases Labs committee: Can the company provide resumes for the individuals assigned to the management team in order to demonstrate their relevant experience and skills? Will the company be operating at a physical location, remotely, work with consultants? In the event the company lacks team members with a necessary skill, does the company have a plan to address those needs?
When describing how Orases Labs will achieve a full ROI, the company should present a plan which includes a timeline of possible exit, a list of potential acquirers, a list of relatively similar acquisition from the aforementioned acquirers and a report of each acquirers valuations. In most cases, Orases Labs seeks a potential ROI of at least 5 times in 5 years or 40% annual ROI.
Orases Labs threshold for investment is $1 million in company valuation and we rarely invest in valuations over $1 million, unless favorable terms and risk are balanced.
In addition to the guidelines stated above, Orases Labs takes other considerations into account. These considerations include the company's go-to market plan, competition, product operations and human resources. Full transparency yields better results for applicants.
